scott_edward@rocketmail.comRon Snyder is a man with a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, which he not only accepted willingly, but sometimes he even fought for it. With this in mind, it's understandable he would have a complicated landscape of emotion. The songs featured here are an extension of how he feels during each event in his life. "I think you should know there is no physical training anywhere
that matches Starfleet."
--Tasha Yar
I used to be a lieutenant, once apon a time. I lived dangerously several hundred years from now, until I was given access to a place inbetween other dimensions and other time periods. Despite this discovery, I was still determined to work as a security officer on the flagship. I thought I found my purpose in life, even if it meant I had to risk that life constantly. While frequenting this Dimensional Hub, I met a woman. Long story short, after some interesting moments with Cordelia Chase, I gave up my life in space for a life in twenty-first century Los Angeles. I was now content hunting vampires and protecting their intended prey.
Later
Two years went by, and my marriage with Cordy had ended. It was because of the recently reawakened Wolfram & Hart. With Illyria by my side, I struggled successfully to get back at them by organizing each of the demon-friendly businesses in LA not already on board with the law-firm's plan for armageddon. We became a cooperative network, each business located at strategic points around the city. We had the support of the Watchers Council, which meant we also had an army of vampire-slayers working nightly to make the city safer than it's ever been before. Who said working security doesn't prove useful later in life?
Later Still...
Illyria and I weren't together any longer, after Lyri realized I still had feelings for Cordy far surpassing my feelings for the goddess. Next, I was raped after Buffy the vampire-slayer's soul was stolen by a warlock on retainer for the Senior Partners. I recovered from this after hefting some emotional-baggage, but Buffy had a tough time after her soul was returned to her. I needed to do something to help her, but she didn't let anyone even try. Meanwhile, Cordy and I were about to be married again, until the PTB ended her extended time on Earth. She died only a few days before the wedding. You know what I was thinking? This universe really sucked; nothing ever good happened here without it being accompanied by pain. Well, that was fine. You could hurt me as much as you wanted, assholes. I still had work to do.
Recently
Illyria meddles... I love her to death for watching over me during our year together, but it's true. The demonic goddess meddles. She was meddling during the week she spent watching me fall apart after Cordy died. she purposely left me alone to be met by Faith, because Lyri knew Faith and I had too many personality traits in common. It took a month, but her plan worked. Envy me, because I'm not single for long am I. Meanwhile, Faith and I traveled to Ireland to successfully have Angel's curse removed. If anything was going to help Buffy, it had to be knowing her first love was now back on the market. Couldn't remove Angel's hang-ups, but you do what you can with what you have to work with.
I need to make something really clear at this juncture.
I am Snyder
I have a soul.
I'm not a demon.
I'm not a vampire.
I'm not going to impregnate my girlfriend with demonic offspring.
This isn't Rosemary's Baby.
I'm just your average, gorgeous, smooth-headed man with broad shoulders and an attitude.
Watch out, monsters...
Hear me roar.
[Disclaimers:
Cordelia Chase and Angel are the property of Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy. Snyder doesn't belong to anybody. Neither does L.A., but Ron is working on that. Tasha Yar's quote was written by the writers of Star Trek: TNG]

These are some of the original stories written with this character...

or abbreviated comments, which might make things difficult to enjoy.

hidden thread of comments.
**Fatal Revelation : At the start of Ron Snyder's relationship with a recently resurrected Cordelia Chase, the Dimensional Hub is greeted with the untimely arrival of Angel. Despite the static between he and Ron Snyder, Angel decides to try and celebrate the fact Cordy has come back. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes obvious Angel was meant to be a pawn in a plan to control the Hub. The part of Cordy was written by a wonderful person I wish I was still friends with.
**Nemesis : The Old One who originally sent Illyria to the Deeper Well has been brought back to life, and the chaos Doshiva causes creates ripples felt by all. This story was written completely within the Dimensional Hub, and was originally meant as a draw for new members. Of course, it failed, but this story still serves as an almost vital piece of Ron Snyder's history. This is also where the character really begins to suffer.
**Fight The Future : Up until the end of 'When Change is a Gust', the part of Cordelia Chase, and this story idea was provided by the writer behind
cordy_chase1. Ron meets a younger Cordelia after she's been granted access to the Dimensional Hub, and decides to help her as much as possible to adjust to what she learns about her own future.
Hoizons : The temporal chaos inadvertantly caused by the younger Cordelia gets the attention of Wolfram & Hart. They abduct Ron Snyder, and torture him to learn all they can about the man who until a few years ago didn't even exist in their universe.
**The Gang's All Here: Wolfram & Hart are still annoyed with The Demon Bean crew for rescuing Ron. They purposely put a curse on Angel with the expectation that saving the vampire from the curse of frigid madness will end Ron and Cordelia's marriage. Special marks for the same writer behind
cordy_chase1for her participation as BtVS and the related Scoobies.
**When Change is a Gust : Ron's marriage has ended. With Illyria faithfully by his side, he sets into motion a previously concieved plan of action regarding Wolfram & Hart. Nothing will ever be the same again in LA.
The Four Corners: The first story after The Snyder-Initiative has started. What will Wolfram & Hart do as Ron adjusts to new surroundings and new company?
Vengeance is a Bitch : As part of an effort to break Ron Snyder's network of demon-friendly businesses against W&H, the law-firm uses a recently resurrected vengeance-demon named Anya to break Willow Rosenberg's spirit to pieces.
**Week of Champions : The current CEO of Wolfram & Hart is on the run from the law-firm, and he heads straight for the Snyder-Initiative for help.
The Soul In Question : After a full year of silence, and just after Cordelia and Ron try to start a new relationship, W&H tries again. They pay a warlock to steal Buffy's soul, revealing the demon within every slayer.
It's Family : After watching Buffy Summers fail to recover from her actions, hearing a good and valued friend has died, and then learning Ron is now physically unable to please Cordelia in bed after what the souless Buffy did, Ron has had it. Sahjhan may have called this 'Operation Bone-head', but Ron called it 'Operation Don't Screw With Us', and for good reason!
Just Another Day : Ron takes a friend on a tour of his operation around the city. He does this hoping Anne might want to join the new team at The Demon Bean, but is suddenly confronted near the end by a tragedy he wasn't expecting.
Just Another Month: Only a week after his wife's death, Ron discovers Cordelia has been returned yet again, but Ron will not be able to have a relationship with the new Oracle. A new relationship is orchestrated by Illyria with an unlikely new companion, all the while The Network everybody struggles to maintain is stunned after Buffy Summers tries to do the unthinkable. The part of Faith, Cordelia the Oracle, and the demon Buffy have been written by Carol Hunter. Thanks, Cat.
To The Pain: While those within Ron Snyder's Network try to cope with Buffy's recent suicide attempt, and while Faith and Ron begin a relationship, the two of them travel to Ireland to do what needs to be done for a group of gypsies with knowledge of Angel's curse, and how to remove it. Will the relationship between them fail? Will Faith or Ron Snyder die at the hands of the demon terrorizing the romani? Meanwhile, Buffy's soul and Buffy's demon have make a pact that might shake The Network to its knees.
Ties-that-Bind: Ron and Faith come home and discover the Buffy who was left free and active at the Hyperion is also the one who had once raped Snyder. This story is the wrap-up for all current arcs, and also the start for a new and different kind of Buffy Summers.
The More Things Change: After Gwen Raiden makes a pass at Snyder, Faith confronts her. The resulting physical conflict between them leads to the loss of an antique mirror, which is precious and valued by a vengeful god. Faith suddenly finds herself living a life without Ron, not aware everyone in the hotel has had their memories altered to make the vampire-slayer absolutely miserable. Special Marks go to Carol Hunter for writing as Gwen Raiden, Faith, and a new character featured for this story.
The Storm Approaches: While dealing with a fight between Ron and Angel caused by the goddess known as Nemesis, and the not so recent dissatisfaction of Kate Lockley, Ron has about had it. Before he can even stop to consider his options, Illyria comes to the Hyperion to warn everyone about a new threat looming on the horizon.
Downward Spiral: Despite protests from his team, Ron takes his most powerful with him to Wolfram & Hart to make sure the law-firm is aware of the danger approaching. While there, a handshake from a new face causes Ron to suffer a change in personality nobody could have ever predicted.
Only Hurts When I Breathe: Recent events have put Snyder into a coma, and while his few friends and loved-ones remain by his side, it falls on Cordy the Oracle to visit his dreams and show him why the world is better with him in it. This also leads to a decision by the Oracle and by Ron to rescue an unexpected and unlikely new friend at the end of her rope.
And in This Corner: What difficulties will the new Cordelia Chase from yet another reality cause for Faith and Ron's relationship? What could have caused the relationship between the alternative Ron and Cordy to end in the first place, and what exactly is Cordelia's issue with Faith? With a wedding ceremony looming on the horizon, will Ron, Faith, and Cordelia come to terms with each other before it's too late?
Isn't it Ironic?: While demon-clans are lining up to join the Snyder Initiative, Ron also has to deal with Cordelia and her efforts to butt into his and Faith's business. The speed-bumps along the way toward marriage are becoming larger the closer they get to a day they both have waited too long for.
The Chaos Theory: Snyder buys a house for his wife, and the child waiting to be born, while a relationship at the Demon Bean falls apart. Ron also takes the steps necessary to cut this new apocalypse off at the knees by having Gwen Raiden steal mystical power-sources he correctly guesses could be used by the bad guys.
Just Another Year: Sindhava is the only Old One Clan Doshiva manages to awaken before deciding their plan won't work with both Wolfram & Hart and the Snyder Initiative breathing down their necks. This 'minor' Old One decides to take matters into her own hands, only to lash out in anger at Clan Doshiva's agent within The Network when Dana explains why bringing Sindhava the power sources they need to awaken all of the other demons within The Deeper Well isn't possible. The consequence of this anger isn't fully understood until the untimely arrival of a certain pregnant slayer.
The new characters, the new voices for a few old characters, and this story wouldn't have been written had it not been for the work, and the creative-input of Carol Hunter. Thank you for breathing new life into The Network, Cat.
Aftermath: After dealing with the death of his wife, and the miraculous arrival of his new four year-old daughter, Snyder says goodbye to a friend, invites another friend into his bed, and tells someone he loves they'll never have a relationship. Cordelia the Oracle tells him later (and possibly too late) that he wasn't cursed like he suspected. Meanwhile, the new Old One responsible for the death of Snyder's wife is already planning to infiltrate the 'Snyder Initiative'.
Restoration: Snyder breaks-up with Anya on good terms. He then does his best to help Xander become a man Cordelia can be happy with. After Ron's month of self-imposed isolation spent with only his daughter for company, Cordelia surprises everyone by telling Ron she's been in love with him since he rescued her. As Ron begins the restoration of a life taken away from him by both Wolfram & Hart, and later The Powers That Be, Xander's life begins to unravel as he unknowingly embraces the one who killed Faith. In the meantime, the Senior Partners use their power to reach into Snyder's original universe and summon someone Ron isn't expecting.
Reunion: Only a few weeks into the relationship with the new Cordelia, both the arrival of Snyder's Father, and the untimely resurrection of Faith shake things up. Faith's return from the grave causes Cordelia to end things between her and the man who rescued her. It is then up to him to recover from the loss, while also dealing with the recovery of a wife he doesn't feel safe will remain long enough for either his daughter or himself.
Meanwhile, Anya approaches Buffy and calls attention to the slayer's secret desires for Snyder, while Ron turns where nobody could have predicted for companionship.
No Harm Done: Harmony the vampire continues adjusting to having somebody in her bed she was once afraid of, while also dealing with Buffy Summers and her seemingly sudden desires for her new boyfriend. Meanwhile, the Old One called Sindava is coming even closer to the moment when she can topple the king of LA.
